Community Empowerment & Economic Development Programme is running since 2004. In continuation of project activities trough PDC/ PNDG it is realized that different experience and knowledge of different community organizations (PDC/PNDG) should be shared among each other for future development.

In 2009 and 2010 CIPD, Rangamati Sadar team organized PDC conference at Bandukbhanga Union on a test basis and got some positive outcome including coordination and integration among different project component and stakeholders of PDC/PNDG, UnFC, Line department and implementing agencies. On basis of previous experience of Bandukbhanga UnFC, other UnFCs in Rangamati Sadar are encouraged to organized PDC conferences in 2012. By this time Badukbhanga and Jibtali UnFC completed PDC conferences. PDCs were participated and donated for organizing conferences. Total 84 people participated in the conferences including 61 male and 23 female from 46 different PDCs. Also participated from UnFC, GoB Line department, RHDC, CIPD and CHTDF representatives in the conferences.

It creates opportunity for UnFC to be informed about all the PDCs and PNDGs of concern union together. To organize this event UnFC took the leading role as well as to enhance ownership.  PDC members shared their success and failure experience in forum. They also raise their problems towards the line departments and implementing agencies. Through this event PDCs share their experience, knowledge and management views.

To make the event more successful participant/ observer provided some information suggestions.

It also creates an opportunities of identifying strength and bottleneck of community organization. Trough this event the PDCs/ PNDGs get a forum to share their success and experiences knowledge with others which impressed the comparatively weak PDCs.

Through the event UnFCs got a clear picture of total PDC and their activities. PDC members presented their situation in a big forum which makes them more confident. PDCs were informed about their future responsibilities. Almost this event was highly appreciated by community people and programme stakeholder as well. It seems that this kind of large gathering will help the PDC/PNDG in future to work together for large scale programme implementations in collaboration with local institutions and nation building department as well.
