The goal: Capacity enhancement of Jumia community for food security and preserving traditional          Culture.

 

Objectives:

  1. To empower marginalized Jumia community and promotion and promotion of Jumia culture.
  2. To raise capacity of poor Jumia community for proper management of sustainable food supply and IGA to the poorest for livelihood.
  3. To collect, preserve and practice of rarely lost cultural heritage of Jumia community.
  4. Ensuring the involvement of GO-NGO service providers for improvement in access to local resources.
Activities:

1.    Socio-economic status study,
2.    Selection of new Households for project phase-ii
3.    Formation of Gram Surakkha Kamity (GSK),
4.    Training/Orientation Activity,
5.    Day observation (Intl.Mother tongue, Women day and Indigenous day)
6.    Information dissemination Workshop
7.    Cultural team formation at Upazila based and role play by them on Malerria, Water and sanitation, Gender, Legal aid in order to awareness building of community.
8.    Cultural festival observation of Bizu mela
9.    Collection of traditional crafts and cultural materials.
10.    Publish a colorful catalogue with photograph for documentation of traditional items.
11.    Cultural workshop with respective experts.

12.    Establishment of Rice Bank (RB) at union level:  Preparation of socio-economic base line, formation of Gram Suraksha Committee, Social Awareness raising training, organize and promote cultural activity and establish emergency Food Bank (Rice Bank) for Jumia community.
